CREATIVE BUSINESS MENTORING

I take business mentoring very personal. To me, it’s between a struggling business versus a thriving one, and that means providing for one’s family or reviving a weary creative soul. Your success is my success, so mentoring is completely customizable to each individual’s needs. Whether it’s insight on photography, marketing, PR, blogging, SEO, social media, logistics, bookkeeping, or just plain business, we tackle it together. As a former classroom teacher and after six years of running successful business divisions alongside each other, I’ve found a huge passion for bringing my teaching background into the business world in hopes to see happier artists and creatives who become more confident business owners achieving their goals.

For all mentees, a questionnaire is sent so I can better get to know you and your strengths and weaknesses. From this questionnaire, I create and tailor an agenda for that mentoring session. It’s never set in stone as new questions and ideas always pop up, but this agenda serves as a guided structure for our time together. Now be forewarned, I will make you work and give you assignments. Small businesses are founded on a bit of blood, sweat, and tears, but I promise it won’t be too bad!

Mentoring sessions are not just full of ideas and information. It’s an action plan. I believe in doing rather than saying, so my hope is that you will leave our time together nothing but excited, rejuvenated, and confidently ready to tackle your business.

Most mentees book their sessions at least 2-4 months in advance depending on schedule and time of year. Payment plans are available. A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve the date with the remaining balance due 14 days before our scheduled time together. With respect to my family and my own business schedules, there is a $50.00 rescheduling fee, however, this is waived for situations beyond our control (e.g., military, death, illness, and/or weather). Not a wedding professional? No problem! While my specialties are primarily wedding-related, I’ve been honored to mentor non-wedding professionals in the past. Business is business no matter which industry you’re in!

WHAT THE PROS HAVE SAID

Working with Chelsea has been such an amazing experience. From the personalized mentoring agenda, attention to details, and just unconditional support, it all came together so beautifully. I have to admit that I was petrified of going on this journey. I cried. A lot. And I let the little seed of doubt creep into my mind. But then Chelsea came along and showed me that I CAN do this. And that she’s willing to be there to help in any way. That kind of support and love isn’t only what makes her an outstanding mentor but also an irreplaceable friend. Armed with loads of valuable business how-tos and advice, I’m charging ahead knowing I have an amazing mentor right behind me!

hello there

I loved my one on one mentoring session with Chelsea!  She was the perfect balance of information and that personal connection that I was looking for.   I was able to immediately put into action some great tips that have helped grow my business.   I also feel like Chelsea valued our meeting, and I can still reach out to her at anytime.  She is an ambassador of community, and I’m honored to call her a mentor!

I sought out Chelsea not only because she has a fabulous and successful business but because I’ve seen what she is capable of in the networking world and how much of a trail blazer she is with all aspects of social media. I was ready to focus my energy on taking my business to the next level in my industry and wanted to begin to carve out a space for myself and my business. I wanted to be published. I wanted to get my work out there. I wanted to start working towards being a leader in the senior photography industry. Heck, I wanted to begin to be known by people outside of a 30 mile radius.

Working with Chelsea is like working with your sister. She’s tough but totally honest and filled with SO much love for you and your goals. She welcomes you with open arms and works to give you exactly the type of guidance for which you are looking. And she makes some banging cookies!

Before working with Chelsea, I thought that my work simply wasn’t “good enough” to be published or featured on blogs and in magazines. Chelsea helped me to see that there was more to it than just pretty pictures – there were steps to getting your work noticed but it took more than just snapping a photo. Within 6 weeks of mentoring with Chelsea, every single session I had submitted was accepted for blog publication; I was asked to write guest blog posts on two additional blogs; AND was chosen as the official Eye on Fashion blogger for Modern Teen Style. Since then, I have also been published in 3 magazines 5 different times, AND was asked to join the Senior Style Guide team as their In House Fashionista.

Working with Chelsea was a pivotal part in the history of my business. She showed me the pieces I was missing from my business and how to get them. But above all else, Chelsea showed me the way to my confidence; It is because of working with her that I now believe in myself, my work, and my potential.
